Mondays & rainy days go together . . . . . . .

Monday mornings on the job site seem to offer an opportunity to .... excell ....
plus the weather alerts were going off with severe weather warnings, possible heavy rains (luckily the worst weather split & went around us :)   :)   :)   :) !!!!!

Kemo & Brandon provided a blessing on the jobsite - in the Odawa language, an extra special way to start the week.

You can sense their passion and devotion in the overcoming of obstacles that seemed to pop up, from rocks (boulders), roots, concerned neighbors and code enforcement officials. Brandon's brother, Brent, came up from Grand Rapids (2-1/2 hours away) to help us go thru the code permit process at the Leelanau County Government Center - By the end of the day, the strength of God comes thru and all is good to go again!

morning organization & inventory of the materials

setting the transit & corner stakes - square must be square
pallets of block & stone for the foundations

Kemo's hand carved Eagle ends for the roof ridge beams
2 ends for 3 ridge beams for the cabins

change 1 -  no block & stone
pier posts (36" deep set in cement)
All God's creatures great and small

THIS is how you post-hole thru the roots & rocks
I found a dinosaur egg!!!!!!!

Jim & Chuck are spoiling us!
Ham steak with dijon-maple glaze, red potatoes, corn, salad bar
AND fresh warm brownies for desert.
The crew's may bend nails -
The cooks make sure we have bread to share with each other.
